Doctor of Philosophy (Faculty of Art & Design): a PhD for artists

The Monash PhD program offers a rich and dynamic research experience for artists across the visual spectrum, built on informed dialogue and critique and an intense engagement with visual practice.

The program is coordinated by Professor Bernard Hoffert, former World President of the International Association of Art (NGO with formal relationship to UNESCO), a former Executive member of the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools, Research Coordinator and member of the Executive Council of Art Education Australia (the national peak body for art education) and a Vice President of the Academic Board of Monash University.
