Drawing

Perceptual and creative drawing enables
 the
development of skills and the freedom and confidence to use various media and styles

The Drawing Studio at Monash recognises that drawing in the 21st century remains a primary visual research tool for artists and designers. Located in two purpose-built perceptual studios with additional seminar and project rooms, it encompasses the breadth and complexity of a discipline that has endured the test of history, making it one of the most intensive and sustained drawing programs of any university art school in Australia.

Students develop skills of analysis, visual awareness, patience and attentiveness; as well as exploring processes of creativity, critique and imagination. Building upon the rich tradition of the subject, we provide a basis for students' ongoing investigation of the world as contemporary practitioners.
