At the Monash Ceramics Studio, students experiment with different techniques for shaping clay and making ceramics in order to develop their creative skills and confidence as artists.
Ceramics is an ancient craft used as a medium for individual expression by many contemporary artists, and as such the Studio does not emphasise a particular direction - such as vessel-making or sculptural ceramics. Rather it offers a more diverse approach to the discipline, encouraging students to develop individual strengths, ideas and strategies for problem-solving. Students will find studying Ceramics at Monash will provide them with an immensely satisfying artistic endeavour.
