Faculty funding

The following Faculty Research Grants are available to academic staff:

Small Grants

This scheme was suspended in 2008.

Travel Grants

Faculty Research Travel Grants provide support for academic staff to either present a paper at an international research conference, to hold a solo exhibition at an international venue, or to participate in a prestigious international group show. Limited support may also be available for visits to prestigious institutions, or to facilitate high quality international research interactions.

In addition the Faculty supports the following awards:

Faculty of Art & Design Award for Excellence in Research by Early Career Researchers

The Award recognises research excellence by early career researchers who are within five years of the start of their research careers.  Each award consists of a grant of $1,000 to be used at the discretion of the award winner to further his or her research interests.

Faculty of Art & Design Research Development Award

The Award recognises the best contribution to the Faculty’s research effort.  Each award consists of a grant of $500 to be used at the discretion of the award winner to further his or her research interests.
