Technical Officer

My artwork engages with aspects of the absurd and the allegorical. Incorporating a daily practice of taking photographs, the photographic archive of these images and collages created from this resource.

I have exhibited both locally and internationally in public institutions and curated gallery spaces for over ten years.

Recent solo exhibitions include, New Reading Order, Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, 2016 and Permanent Deferral, Utopian Slumps, Melbourne, 2013. Selected group exhibitions include; Master Of Three Worlds, COMA, Sydney, 2017; New Matter - recent forms of photography, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, 2016; Lurid Beauty, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2015; Sydney Contemporary, Carriageworks, Sydney, 2015; Fin, Utopian Slumps, Melbourne, 2014; Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2013, City of Hobart Art Prize, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart, 2013; Hijacked III, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Perth, 2012. Recent artist monographs include, New Reading Order, Negative Press, 2016 and SPBN, Self Publish Be Happy, 2011. Day’s work is held in private collections and in the public collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria.
