World's End is a group exhibition includes the work of Faculty of Art and Design lecturers Nadine Christensen, Leslie Eastman and Steven Rendall.

World’s End is a series of studies in eschatological taste, exploring catastrophilia, death drives and the inclination to be elsewhere as motivations for making something into art. William Hogarth’s last engraving, The Bathos (1764) – an image of unmitigated pessimism where every element is on the verge of dissolution – is a catalyst, if not the impetus for taking on this endeavour.

What does it mean to be obsessed with the end and the death of everything? Is it a natural response to life or a symptom of some greater malady? Thirteen Melbourne and UK based artists present a series of works for the rooms above the Carlton Hotel that delve into these themes and explore their own dystopic visions of the past, present and future.
