Award for Creative Waves
The 'Creative Waves' project has received the Ascilite President's Award 2005 for: Exemplary Application of ICT to Teaching and Learning in Tertiary Education.
In a competitive final round of 15 international applications, the judges from a variety of countries deemed 'Creative Waves' to be the most innovative ICT example overall and the best fulfilling example of the awards assessment criteria.
Vince Dzeikan, Deputy Head (Academic), Multimedia and Digital Arts was the co-convenor of 'Creative Waves'. He attended the ceremony with colleague Rick Bennett, founder of the Omnium Project (Australia) at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. The seven-week 'Creative Waves' project involved 61 graphic design, photomedia and visual communication students from 22 countries, including four third-year design students from Monash Art & Design.
The Ascilite Awards were presented by the Australasian Society of Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (Ascilite) on Sunday 4 December 2005.
