Instinct
Faculty Gallery Exhibition - 9 September to 5 November 2004
Instinct explores the work of contemporary artists involved with the representation of animals, or who adopt or identify with the animal as a metaphor or allegory for exploring ideas of identity and humanity, creativity and the role of the 'artist'.
This exhibition engages with the mysterious and curious properties of the animal form to further explore uncanny and ambiguous interventions into the human psyche and behaviour.
Instinct is curated by Liza Vasiliou. Featuring the work of Emily Floyd, Sharon Goodwin, Irene Hananbergh, Louise Hearman, Rebecca Ann Hobbs, Ronnie van Hout, David Noonan, Lisa Roet and Kathy Temin.
A Monash University Museum of Art exhibition presented at the Faculty Gallery.
