Study multimedia

Monash was the first university in Melbourne to establish multimedia as a standalone degree course, and now offers two streams to cater for the diversity of career paths - multimedia and digital arts.

The Bachelor of Multimedia & Digital Arts at the Caulfield Campus, has an art/design ability prerequisite, and takes a design-studio approach to the discipline, with students expected to express original ideas and contribute to the evolving 'language of multimedia'.

The Master of Multimedia, jointly offered by the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Art & Design, offers graduates from any background to complement their existing expertise with skills in multimedia production.

The department employs six permanent academics, approximately twenty part-time staff specialising in different aspects of multimedia, as well technical and administrative staff. Staff are practicing multimedia designers and digital media artists who engage with their discipline and professional community through consultancy, exhibitions, conferences and publications.
