About Department of Multimedia & Digital ArtsThe world wide web, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and other digital media have become a central part of contemporary life. This has created a need for a new generation of artists and designers trained to take advantage of multimedia's unique potential to integrate digital sound, images, text, and interactivity into clear messages and compelling content. Art and design graduates with digital imaging and multimedia skills have the potential to participate in all areas of the emerging industry, from design to programming, or from motion graphics to virtual world design. The Department of Multimedia and Digital Arts purpose-built digital media studios (opened in 1999) includes facilities for producing digital imaging, web design, interactive media, animation, virtual spaces, and digital video. Students can work on Windows and Macintosh platforms, and have access to the full range of digital imaging and multimedia resources including industry standard software, digital printing facilities, and professional digital video and photomedia studios. |
