Equipment Loans & Bookings

Faculty of Art & Design IT Services offers the facilities of variety of audio and visual equipments loan for both staff and students. The following are list of equipment available:

Conditions of equipment loan

Students borrowing equipment from the Art & Design Service desk do so with the undertaking that they do fully understand the conditions of borrowing and therefore any penalties that may be applied.Any student found to be misusing either the booking system or the equipment may be banned from future use at the discretion of the Manager IT Services.

What equipment can I borrow?
Use the table above  to determine the booking eligibility of the required equipment.
Some exceptions to student borrowing may be made with the written support of an academic staff member.

For How Long?
Most equipment can only be borrowed overnight.
Exceptions may be granted for special projects and in times of low demand, such as non teaching periods and between semesters. The written support of an academic staff member will be required to grant exceptions.

Where can I collect the equipment?
Items can be collected from the Art & Design Service desk between 11am and 4pm.
The Service Desk is located in Room G113, adjacent to the Open Access labs on the ground floor of the Art & Design building.

What happens if I do not collect the equipment I booked?
Equipment that is not picked up by 4pm on the day of your booking maybe allocated to another student.
Please ensure that if you do not require the equipment for any reason, to cancel your booking. Students who do not utilize their bookings on more than one occasion may be subject to suspension 

What happens if the equipment is returned late?
Late returns will attract the following penalties:

Duration Penalty
Returned on the due date but after 10am One week ban from borrowing
One day late Two week ban from borrowing
Two to seven days late Six week ban from borrowing
More than seven days late Financially responsible for the replacement of the equipment
