Structural Thinking: Thinking StructureExhibition dates: 31 October to 7 November This exhibition/installation maps a thought process that includes two interrelated but separate states of being. The exhibition/installation space is divided, but also joined, in order to express this duality. The first section of the installation comprises three series of works that are positioned behind a wall titled Questioning the Wall. These works relate to the very real presence of absence and loss and are collectively titled: Inner Space. The second part of the installation is in direct response to the ‘making’ of Inner Space. It is a celebration of the making process: thoughtful ‘doing’ towards a continuum of thinking and making. It is collectively titled: The Point Being. Theoretically the work is positioned within extracts from the Existential thinking of Martin Heidegger and the Deconstruction of Jacques Derrida. The ‘making’ references sculpture/installation, interior architecture and textile structure. Return to Phd Candidate Exhibitions Home |
