Fragments from other work

Stephen Garrett, Eye to Mouth, 2008, Ink and Pencil on Paper, 12 x 10cms

This exhibition contains fragments of previous work, that have been reinterpreted into new forms. Some fragments and moments long since forgotten, objects that were made and went, somehow have returned to also claim their space within this realm: this perpetual presentness.

The exhibition uses structures that test forms of an idea, to find the horizon line, or the edge, where two distinct barriers are not seen, but felt - or sensed. That point which we call the horizon, which we can always see but never arrive at, it is always before us and never upon us. The overlap of sky to ground or ground to sea: conterminous zones of invention and evolution; space and place folding over and into each other.
