Heimweh
by Wiebke Brix
The work by Wiebke Brix in Heimweh uses the domestic sphere to express concerns relating to the space between home, exile and art. The work represented is of emotional places that emblematise a view of home that is fabricated by memory and nostalgia.
The works depict an exilic view of home; the notion of home in this context is defined by its absence and a sense of belonging that turns into constant longing. Exiles or emigrants are haunted by some sense of loss, some urge to reclaim, to look back at times or places that only exist in the past or maybe have never been.

Land, Hope & Allure
Living and connecting the world
by Marie-Louise Anderson
Featuring work by Marie-Louise Anderson, the research for this investigation examined the role of Cape Town and Tasmania as destinations offering hope for British colonials seeking arable land and new opportunities in the dominions. The artwork and exegesis Land, Hope and Allure reflects upon the imaginative power of hope, the significance of cultural and psychological landscapes and feeling connected to the natural world.
