Immateriality PURE

Exhibition dates: 16 November to 24 November
Opening: Wednesday 14 November, 5-7pm

Immateriality as a concept represents more than just being part of a binary; it is much more than just another word for dematerialization or a negation and dismissal of matter, substance, perception, experience even.

Simply put, current conceptions of Immateriality could be described as an extension and a fundamental rethinking of the multiplicity of matter and materiality including any so-called realities experienced via traditional materialistic interpretations.

Immateriality goes beyond the materiality of the object as well as beyond the phenomena object. Believing in matter as a fixed entity from its own side is challenged while contemporary meanings of Immateriality describe the condition necessary for matter and materiality to function originally.

An appreciation of Immateriality as a more expanded and thereby more inclusive conceptual vision makes it possible to read abstract art for example as a kind of reflection and celebration of such a view.
