Lifelong Learning
The faculty has the largest and most successful postgraduate program of any art school in Australia, numbering around 75 PhD students and a similar number of students enrolled in our various MA programs. All our full time PhD’s have a studio on campus, as does all academic staff.
To learn in such a research community means that from the very beginning each student is able to understand and accept the legitimacy of the broadest possible range of visual and creative research projects through constant exposure to both the breadth of disciplines and the depth of enquiry.
Perhaps more significantly individuals are exposed to the endless possibilities of collaboration with fellow students both from across the Faculty and the University. This prepares those who are committed to the collaborative process to engage in projects with researchers from other disciplines, such as scientists, writers and economists. Such collaborative projects are clearly the way of the future.
