Aim of department

The aim of the department is to provide fine arts students with a studio-based education that prepares them to work as professional artists in their own studio, or in related areas of the 'arts' industries.

Department of Fine Arts

The Department of Fine Art places a strong emphasis on teaching and learning as well as fostering research activity in fine art, encouraging students to become involved with exhibitions and gallery activities.

Art at its best functions like a mirror, allowing us to gain some insight into the complexities of the world around us; consequently our principal role as artists is to increase the quality of the collective awareness of where we are and of how we relate to each other.
