What specialisations and electives can I take?

At this stage, streams are being considered in the areas of digital architecture, history and theory, conservation, urban design, environmentally sustainable design, construction technology and materials, and project management. All specialisations will complement the course’s core studies of design and technology.

In addition to the architecture- specific electives, students can take electives from some of the other art and design disciplines, including industrial design, interior architecture, multimedia & digital arts, and fine arts (including metals & jewellery, drawing, painting, sculpture, glass, photomedia and printmedia), as well as history and theory offerings.

There will also be an optional semester at the University’s Centre in Prato, located 20 minutes outside Florence in Italy. It is likely to focus on urban design, in conjunction with students undertaking a concurrent semester in the Melbourne CBD. Students gain full credit towards their degrees whilst living and working in the centre of a Medieval commune amid the landscapes of Tuscany.
