Undergraduate course Postgraduate course

Architecture tackles issues of function and need, however it also addresses the desires and aesthetics of those who inhabit the built environment. It reflects the many facets of human existence at both individual and societal levels.

Architectural design is a process of investigation, critical observation and experiment, involving 3-dimensional and material testing of ideas to achieve coherent design solutions.

Architecture at Monash has been designed with the involvement of an advisory group of eminent architectural practitioners and educators, to be innovative and relevant to the contemporary practice of architecture.  It will encourage connections between art, design and architecture and allow students to establish a creative network by studying with industrial designers, painters, sculptors, interior architects, glass artists and more.

A new suite of architecture studios, lab, offices and exhibition spaces has been designed to support the program's philosophy. In this suite, the co-location of the machine lab and studios reinforce the connection
of the workshop to architectural education.
