Architecture CoursesArchitecture is a five-year academic program comprising the Bachelor of Architectural Design and the Master of Architecture degrees. Graduates of Architecture programme will have highly developed capabilities in architectural design and its integration with environmental and technological factors, meeting the academic requirements for professional registration. The program of study will engage students with the social, historical and theoretical contexts of architecture as well as providing knowledge of the professional practice requirements for the practice of architecture. Architecture UnitsThe Bachelor of Architectural Design consists of five major areas of study and as well as an electives stream:
Architecture students will have the opportunity to undertake advanced study in specialised areas of architecture such as housing, digital practices and sustainable urban design. In addition to the architecture-specific electives, students can take electives from other art and design disciplines, including industrial design, interior architecture, multimedia & digital arts, and fine arts (including metals & jewellery, drawing, painting, sculpture, glass, photomedia and printmedia), as well as history and theory offerings. Urban Design Studios will also be offered at the Monash Centre in Prato Italy, and within the Melbourne CBD. Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Architectural Design will automatically be eligible for entry into the two-year Master of Architecture program.
