Statement Associate Professor de Bono's research has been in the discipline of industrial design and the majority of activities have been in the form of innovations in designs for major national research corporations and commercial organisations. As Head of Department, he has implemented a range of degrees that provide students with professional educational outcomes and a sound basis for research and higher-degree studies. He has served as President of the Victorian Chapter of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and co-chaired the Design Research Society's International Research Conference, FUTUREGROUND. Research/Professional activitiesMajor applied research projects over the last 10 years include: Electoral Furniture Systems The candidate was commissioned by a multinational packaging company to investigate alternative concepts to durable electoral furniture systems. The research was supported and reviewed by key Australian electoral bodies. Design and development of a mass produced semi automated residential window system The candidate was funded by multinational company to investigate and discover innovative technologies in residential aluminium window design in a semi-automated manufacturing environment.
